Pwoje Espwa

Pwoje Espwa is a multi-faceted organization located just outside of Les Cayes, Haiti.  Espwa was founded in 1998, and has since grown to house over 700 children, employ over 200, educate over 2,000, and participates in housing and nutritional outreach programs.
Located on over 140 acres of land, Pwoje Espwa has a growing agricultural program as well as a clinic that cares for its residents. For a small fee, neighboring residents can also have their basic health care needs met.  Also on the property are a primary school, secondary school, and growing vocational school.  All residents of Espwa attend one of the highly performing schools, and sponsorships are given to neighboring children.  Tiberon and Camp Perrin also house Espwa primary schools, and along with the university level scholarships given, Pwoje Espwa educates more than 2,000 students in the southern part of Haiti.

For eleven years Pwoje Espwa has been serving thousands of residents of Haiti, and is still thriving.  Global Family Philanthropy respects and supports the projects Pwoje Espwa has in place, and are happy to assist in their future growth.

For His Glory Adoption Outreach

For His Glory Adoption Outreach was established in order to match abandoned and orphaned children in Haiti with families in across the globe. Currently, For His Glory houses approximately one hundred thirty infants and small children.  The children attend school on campus, and are cared for by numerous, trained staff members.  All of the children at For His Glory are hoping to be adopted. For His Glory is forced to turn away over eighty children a month, due to a lack funding.

Planting Peace

Global Family Philanthropy is deeply moved by the tremendous commitment that Planting Peace has made to the children of Haiti and abroad. In May 2009, with the generous support from Carol and Edward Goldberg, Global Family Philanthropy adopted their first orphanage through Planting Peace in Port au Prince, Haiti. Planting Peace's core belief is that it is better for children to grow up in a family style environment as opposed to a program based one. Hannah and Olivia's House of Hope is a safe haven for seven beautiful, healthy children. Global Family Philanthropy is nurturing a loving relationship with the children by making regular visits and providing basic living necessities.

Global Family Philanthropy strongly believes in Planting Peace's 'Stomp The Worm' Project, a program set forth to provide deworming medication to poverty stricken areas of the world. 80% of the Haitian population is infected with intestinal worms. Intestinal worms eat 20% of a person's nutritional intake and in Haiti this can mean the difference between life and death.  In July 2009, with the support of Planting Peace, Global Family Philanthropy's volunteers successfully dewormed over a thousand Haitians

Sister Flora's Orphanage

Residing on the small island of Ille-a-Vache, just a couple miles off of Les Cayes is Sister Flora's Orphanage. With only a team of eight, and the occasional volunteer, Sister Flora has one of the most admirable and difficult jobs in Haiti- caring for over 25 severely handicapped children.  Because access to Ille-a-Vache is extremely limited, one must take a small boat to reach it, supplies and assistance are difficult.

Sister Flora has a heart of gold, and even when meals and finances are tight, she cannot say no to a child in need.  Global Family Philanthropy supports the efforts and work Sister Flora and her Orphanage make, especially to assist, educate, and care for children with such great need.

EDUplus

EDUplus was founded for the purpose of aiding young adults in their transition into the "working world".  Through training and job development, EDUplus creates self sustaining individuals, and in turn, enhances the Haitian economy, encouraging it to thrive and survive on its own. After witnessing firsthand the difficulties felt by young adults trying to break into a career, two former Pwoje Espwa volunteers decided to take action, and founded EDUplus.

EDUplus is breaking the chains of poverty through education.  With seperate job development, skills training, and microlending programs, young residents of Haiti are becoming confident, developing dreams and aspirations, and positively striving to change their country.
Global Family Philanthropy advocates for young adults working to change their future generations.

Blankets for Babies

Blankets for Babies exists in order to give babies living in poverty a small taste of comfort, hope, and love. Blankets are given to children around the world, including Haiti, a soft Boh Boh Blanket.  For every blanket purchased, a blanket is given to a child in need.  In December 2009, Blankets for Babies delivered over 100 blankets to children living in orphanages in Port au Prince, Les Cayes, and Ille-a-Vache.  The project was so successful, Global Family Philanthropy plans to partner with Blankets for Babies in the future and continue to provide children with the comfort of Boh Boh Blankets.
